Set over five decades, beginning during the sexual revolution, the Summer of Love and Woodstock, to the beginnings of the twenty-first-century Puritanism, Tender As Love tells the story of a life-saving and intimate connection between a surgeon and a prostitute. Anthony Di Nardi is caught between a demanding professional life and marriage, and his desire for a prostitute who changes his life. From their simple acquaintance, they will embark on a journey to intimacy that takes them to the depths of physical attraction, desire, sex, and later on, of love. But where is this relationship leading them?

Tender As Love is a story that explores guilt, sin and redemption during times of changing moral and religious beliefs along with the progress and politics of health and medical care. It depicts the nature of love and corporeal desires, while offering insights on human sexuality. Through this remarkable book, Matteo praises the women in his life who, he believes, might be considered superior creatures.

The author, Angelo Matteo, an imaginary person with expertise in sexual medicine, uses evolving scientific information about sexual physiology to explore the depths of physical attraction, desire, love and compatibility between men and women.
