1887. No Edition Remarks. 459 pages. No dust jacket. Decorated blue cloth covered boards with gilt. With illustrations and photos in black and white. Colour maps. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Plates are slightly tanned with some foxing. Ex Libris plate to front pastedown. Previous owner's inscription and some staining to front free end-paper. Heavy staining to gutter at page 192-3. Rear free end papers heavily damaged with staining and loss. Binding reasonably firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear at the front board and slightly darkened at the spine. Sunning to spine. Cloth is worn at the joints. Book has a slight forward lean.
