About this Item
This colorful map splits Tennessee into eastern (lower) and western (upper) halves - an interesting configuration that may have been a requisite of the printing process. The image presents each county with a distinct vibrant hue. A fascinating variety of locations are labeled throughout - geographic features, settlements, natural resources, local industries, and more. Topography is depicted in hachure, emphasizing the southern end of the Appalachian Mountain Range in the east. A robust network of railroads is shown connecting nearly every corner of the state. Red overprinting identifies thirty-seven different companies in operation. Electric railway lines are also identified in red. Published by Rand McNally in Chicago in 1913. Sheet Width (in) 28.5 Sheet Height (in) 20.5 Condition Description Light toning around the outer edges of the sheet, confined to the margins, and the title written in old ink in the upper margin. A handful of old circles (pencil) and dirty fingerprints in the image. Blank on verso. Very good overall. Seller Inventory # 4891
