The aim of the book is to highlight the plight of endangered animals and the environmental reasons for their predicament.

Through the medium of a rhyming story, children learn about the perils facing turtles and how man affects their environment.

It is designed to be read by a parent or teacher while encouraging discussion of the points made in the story and illustrations.
