The Terra Firma Way: A Leadership Framework for Institutional Renewal in Higher Education

If you are leading an institution today, you already know the ground has

shifted. Enrollment is softer. Margins are thinner. Decisions take longer than

the runway allows. You carry the weight of payroll, creditors, faculty, students,

and a mission that deserves to endure. You can see what needs to change, but

bureaucracy, fear, and not knowing which steps to take first slow everything

down. All while time is quickly running out for your institution.

The Terra Firma Way is for institutional leaders who are ready to step out of

survival mode. Grounded in real turnaround work and Jamie Caridi's experience

as a sitting college president, this book offers a clear, practical approach to

institutional renewal. It shows how to assess institutional health, focus on the

indicators that matter, clarify roles, and make disciplined decisions that restore

stability and confidence. It offers a path back to economic equilibrium, and a

future where the institution and the people leading it, can breathe again.
