Illustrated paper covers have a few small nicks and tears and light creasing to edges. light overall scuffing, aging and soiling to covers as well. Binding tight. Pages lightly aged but otherwise clean and unmarked with occasional light spotting an soiling. Not Ex-library. Mostly color illustrations throughout, including a two page center spread of "The Four Plants of the Premier Malt Products Co." Includes a range of recipes for items like bread, cakes, cookies, and sauces all using Blue Ribbon Malt Extract. On the bottom of the first page is an endorsement by Prudence Penny, which was a pen name used by several women who wrote for Hearst newspapers, offering home-related advice and recipes in a syndicated column. This endorsement was part of a marketing strategy to promote the product during the Prohibition era, when malt extract was used in home brewing. Contents include: Guarantee by H.
