They include not only famous but also lesser-known and even unknown Texans who made important contributions to the state in the arts, sports, business, military service, politics—truly every area of communal life. Bill Harvey traces his interest in Texas cemeteries to high school summers working in Fort Worth's Mount Olivet Cemetery. An avid student of Texas history, as well as an outdoorsman, fly fisherman, and photographer, he has worked for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in Austin for nearly twenty years.
