Comprehensive history of the famous frontier lawmen of Texas by this former president of the state's historical association, in 584 pages, including Index, with sketches & real period photographs throughout by Lonnie Rees. First published in 1935, this is the Second Edition from 1965, printed from the exact same plates but eliminating two poems in front matter & adding a new Foreword by proud Texan & then-U.S. President Lyndon Baines Johnson. Small quarto has tan cloth-covered boards stamped in bright gilt inside a red title box to spine. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with very mild tanning & slight offsetting to front endpapers, but completely unmarked. Rubbing to both ends of spine & all corners. The unclipped DJ is Good, with heavier rubbing & many chipped areas' nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free!
