Texas is the Reason

Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkle along with a cast and crew that braved the unforgiving Texas heat and an uncompromising set, approached true madness to give birth to one of the most unique and influential horror movies ever made; 1974's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Unleashed on an unsuspecting public during a tumultuous time in American history, TCM was the proverbial abyss gazing back at a country in crisis.
Tim Murr, author of Thirsty and Miserable; A Critical Analysis of the Music of Black Flag and My Skull is Full of Black Smoke, explores the entire Texas Chainsaw saga that stretches across five decades, multiple movies, comics, and video games, as well as the true crimes and films that came before and the movies that were inspired by this seminal work.
