About the Authors

Kurt Aland (1915–1994) was a theologian and biblical scholar who specialized in New Testament textual criticism. He taught at the University of M�nster in Germany. In 1959, he founded the Institute for New Testament Textual Research, which he directed until 1983.

Barbara Aland (1937–2024) was a theologian, philologist, and biblical scholar whose work focused on New Testament textual research. She taught at the University of M�nster in Germany and directed the Institute for New Testament Textual Research from 1983–2004.
