The Thanksgiving We Almost Forgot: How the First Thanksgiving Began at Holy Mass

Most people remember Thanksgiving as a feast shared between Pilgrims and Native peoples. But long before that famous meal, Catholic missionaries and Native communities gathered to give thanks to God in the most perfect way — at the Holy Mass.

The Thanksgiving We Almost Forgot gently brings this hidden history to life through the story of two children who discover the Eucharistic roots of Thanksgiving. Along the way, young readers will learn that “Eucharist” means thanksgiving and that gratitude isn’t just a feeling — it’s a gift we give to God and to others.

With warm watercolor illustrations, rich historical context, and a faith-filled message, this book is a beautiful way for families to rediscover the true heart of Thanksgiving.

Perfect for:

• Families seeking a faith-centered way to celebrate Thanksgiving

• Catholic schools and religious education programs

• Homeschoolers and catechists teaching American history through a Catholic lens

• A meaningful holiday gift that points hearts back to Jesus

Reclaim the forgotten story of Thanksgiving — and discover its Eucharistic heart.
