About The Avocado Pit
We have been booksellers and bookseller software developers for the last 35 years, selling online since 1992, and developing our BookTrakker software in 1996, with release in late 1998. Our current shop after starting in Littleton, NH is The Avocado Pit located at 2621 West Beverley Street on the western edge of Staunton, Virginia. Specializing in hardcore nonfiction and genealogies, as well as children's books and a few non-book items. Open by chance or appointment, please call 540 886-0651 in advance to verify our availability. Best hours are 2 PM to 5 PM, five to seven days a week. Lots of parking in front of the shop. Easy access from Interstate 81.

Terms of sale
All orders must be prepaid, including libraries. All orders must be confirmed within 48 hours, or book will be relisted. We accept Visa & Mastercard, Amex, Discover Card, Paypal, checks and money orders. 10 day hold. All books returnable for any reason. Returns must be made within 10 days of receipt. Please email to confirm availability of books. All books subject to prior sale. All funds MUST be in U.S. currency.
Shipping terms
Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. We may also reduce shipping if the book is very light.
