The book is designed with both the novice and experienced producer in mind. The novice will find a thorough yet easy to understand introduction to the fundamentals of producing: legal management, financial management, personnel, networking, strategic planning, marketing, fund raising, leadership and time management. At the same time, the more experienced producer will find a fresh and innovative approach to these fundamentals as well as more in-depth guidance through eleven hands-on appendices which cover everything including: limited partnership agreements, house management, organizational by-laws, program and even playbill design. All of this information is presented in a concise, easy-to-read and innovative style, complete with intriguing production photographs from a selection of Broadway, regional theatre, touring and college productions.
