Printed on silk A programme for the play '98.9' (by Chester Bailey Fernald) at the Criterion Theatre, 1912, under the management of Robert Loraine. In addition to being a successful actor-manager, Loraine was a pioneering airman who had flown with the RFC in WWI. Mild grubbiness, crease to top RH corner, a few threads loosening, but a very decent example. Programmes were printed on silk for VIP patrons of theatre premieres as souvenirs, so it appears that Loraine, as manager and leading actor, was making an effort with this play. 98.9 refers to the ideal body temperature.
