Theory and Practice with Adolescents

For too long, practitioners and students working with adolescents have been forced to consult a variety of sources to bring together theory and practice in a meaningful way. Professor McKenzie draws on his extensive experience as both a practitioner and an academic to create a comprehensive book, one that provides a strong theoretical base as well as practical techniques to effectively use theory in practice. Fred R. McKenzie (MSW, George Williams College; PhD, Loyola University Chicago) is associate professor and director of the School of Social Work at Aurora University. He has been a full time faculty member since 1991. Prior to that, Professor McKenzie served as associate director for clinical services at SPECTRUM Youth and Family Services, as executive director of Barrington Youth Services, and has been in private practice in Illinois for twenty-five years. In 1992, Professor McKenzie received the Harold F. Schrage Award as the first field instructor of the year from Aurora University's School of Social Work.
