It gives an exposition of what may be called the classical special and general theory of relativity. Great care has been taken to make clear the physical meaning of the quantities occuring in this theory by giving a formulation of the general laws in terms of a three-dimensional vector calculus along with the traditional, very elegant but rather formal , four-dimensional formulation. Inside this restricted field the author has aimed at giving a complete account and, since the results are presented in a form suitable for immediate application, the book will be useful for all research workers in this field.
