The Theory of the Steam Engine; Showing the Inaccuracy of the Methods in use for Calculating the Effects of the Proportions of Steam-engines, and Supplying a Series of Practical Formulae

Originally published in 1828, this classic work on steam engine theory is a must-read for engineers and historians alike. François Marie Guyonneau de Pambour challenges the prevailing methods of calculating the efficiency of steam engines and provides a series of practical formulae for determining their performance. With clear diagrams and detailed explanations, this book is a fascinating glimpse into the early years of steam power.
