It innovatively establishes an accurate mechanical model for bolt connections, systematically analyzing complex interface contact states (stick, slip, separation) and their nonlinear effects on stiffness, damping, and frictional energy dissipation, addressing critical gaps in the field. The scope extends to vibration characteristics of spinning shells (cylindrical/conical-cylindrical/spherical–cylindrical–conical) under thermal environments, emphasizing traveling wave motion induced by high-speed spin and thermo-mechanical coupling. Targeting researchers and engineers in aerospace engineering, the book balances theoretical rigor and practical application. 

About the Author

Yan Qing Wang graduated with BSc in 2005 and MSc in 2007 from Northeastern University, China. He joined Northeastern University as a Teaching assistant from 2007-2009, and then he obtained Ph.D. in 2013 from Northeastern University. From 2016-2017, he is a post-doctoral fellow at University of Toronto, Canada. He was promoted to Full Professor in 2017 at Northeastern University. He is the founding director of the Key Laboratory of Structural Dynamics of Liaoning Province. His research interests include dynamics of aeroengine, robotics, flight mechanics, etc. He has published over 120 journal papers. Dr. Wang serves as editorial board members of International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica, International Journal of Applied Mechanics, Acta Mechanica Sinica, etc.

Qingdong Chai, Ph.D., is a specially appointed associate professor and master's supervisor, main research focuses on dynamics and control, particularly in the areas of nonlinear vibrations of bolted thin-walled structures, pipeline vibrations, and rotor dynamics, has published over ten academic journal papers as the first author in recent years, including one ESI highly cited paper, and has been granted four patents as the second inventor, has participated in multiple National Natural Science Foundation projects and industry-sponsored projects.
