Therians

What does it mean to feel connected to something deeper than yourself?

In recent years, the term Therian has appeared across social media, online communities, and youth conversations around the world. For many young people, it represents a way of describing a deep inner connection with certain animals, identity exploration, and a search for belonging.

But behind this growing conversation lies a much deeper question:

Who am I?

In Therians: Understanding the New Search for Youth Identity, author Máximo Guzmán explores this cultural phenomenon with empathy, curiosity, and thoughtful reflection. Rather than mocking or dismissing the experience, this book seeks to understand the deeper human questions behind it.

Inside this book you will discover:

• What the Therian community is and how it developed
• Why identity exploration is so common in the digital age
• The emotional search for belonging, meaning, and self-understanding
• Psychological insights into how young people form identity
• A spiritual perspective on identity, purpose, and belonging

Whether you are:

• A young person exploring your identity
• Someone who identifies as Therian
• A parent trying to understand your child
• A leader, educator, or curious reader

this book invites you into a respectful and meaningful conversation.

Because behind every label is a person searching for understanding, belonging, and purpose.

And every generation deserves to be heard.
