The Second Edition of Thermal Characterization of Polymeric Materials, edited by Edith A. Turi provides an overview of thermal analysis by focusing on instrumentation and an array of applications in research, development, production, quality control and technical service.
Edith A. Turi is a Research Professor at the Herman Mark Polymer Research Institute, Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, New York. She received her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the Technical University of Budapest in Hungary. Dr. Turi has dedicated more than 35 years of research to the study of the characterization of materials, including polymers, additives, organics, inorganics and alloys. She has published extensively on novel applications of thermal techniques and holds 15 domestic and many foreign patents.A leader in her field, Dr.Turi has been honored with numerous awards for her distinguished contribution to the field of thermal analysis, including extensive teaching efforts around the world for more than 20 years. Recognition of her work has includedthe Outstanding Service Award from the North American Thermal Analysis Society (1981), the International Mettler Award (1985), the Exceptional Achievement Award of the American Chemical Society, Education Division (1991), and the Special Recognition Awardof Polytechnic University (1996)--where the Professor Edith A. Turi Thermal Analysis Laboratory was established in her honor.
