Please find: Thermodynamics of the Steam Engine and Other Heat-Engines by Cecil H. Peabody, then Professor of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at MIT. This largish hard cover book (6 ¼ x 9 ¼ inches, 543 pages plus the Temperature-Entropy Diagram paste-down on the rear endpaper) was published by John Wiley & Sons of New York, dated 1909 and the Sixth Edition (so stated). It is bound in dark brown cloth with bright gilt titles on the spine. The book is amply illustrated with 135 captioned Figures and numerous tables. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are generally clean with a few specks and one scrap across the front cover probably the result of the binding process. Inside a former owner has left his neatly printed name on the front endpaper and there is a semi-erased price as well. Inside the pages and figures are bright and clean throughout without toning or foxing although there is some soiling to the exposed page edges. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
