It’s April 2002, just after the attacks on the World Trade Center. Emma Winters, a legendary acting and dialect coach in film and television, has been assigned to a shoot in the unparalleled beauty of the province of Newfoundland. She finds herself in the midst of an internal and external discovery, falling head over heels not just for a local named James, but for a place that feels like home for her and her eight-year-old son, Noah. While she expects windswept cliffs, lighthouses, and the challenge of perfecting the not often heard Newfoundland accent for film, she doesn’t expect the rugged island to steal her heart in every possible way.

As she enjoys the freshest seafood of her life, is initiated by local wildlife, and survives a near wreck, Emma discovers a part of herself she didn’t know was missing. Her brief assignment begins to feel like something instinctual, freeing, and permanent.
