A scarce leather bound first edition of this illustrated account of the author's time travelling across the Pyrenees. A scarce leather bound copy, bound in the original full calf with gilt. Illustrated with a frontispiece, thirty-one plates, and a double page map to the front of the text. Collated complete. A description of an interesting frontier land, its wonderful scenery, romantic associations, the attractions of its fashionable resorts, and the charms of more secluded retreats. Written from the author's own experiences in the region. Written by General Sir Charles Leslie Richardson, a senior British Army officer who saw service in the Second World War and reached high office following the end of the war. In the original full calf binding. Externally, smart with light wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with scattered spotting and light age toning to the endpapers. Very Good.
