It proves that the poverty gap is a technology gap and suggests the establishment of a machine tool center to create capacity for machine building. It also suggests strategies including the use of the input/output matrix and the upgrade of scientific institutions as trainer of trainees in a national development agenda with quantifiable targets. Engineer Woode, chairman of CTED (Centre of Knowledge-Based Technology-Driven Economic Development) whose membership includes Dr. Pastor Otabil, Prof. Frimpong Boateng, Dr. Kofi Amanor Owusu Ansah, Col. Abaka Jackson-and also chairman of Ghana Oil Palm Research Institute, anufactured the first Ferris wheel in the world with a rotating effigy (Nkrumah) on top.
