Thirty Three

Thirty Three

the number of years that Negative Capability Press has been publishing

the number of vertebrae in the human spine

the atomic number of arsenic

the temperature that water boils

the Triangulum galaxy

the number of miracles that Jesus performed

the smallest sum of two positive numbers, each of which raised to the fifth power: 1^5 + 2^5 = 33.

the largest positive integer that cannot be expressed as a sum of different triangular numbers. It is also the smallest odd repdigit that is not a prime number.

Negative Capability’s Thirty Three Anthology is organic, scientific, innovative, astonishing, a little strange—an odd number, indeed, and is certainly capable of being in uncertainty.
