About the Author
Ian Volner has contributed articles on architecture, design, and urbanism to Harper’s, The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, and The New Yorker online, among other publications. He is a contributing editor at Architect and Surface magazines.
James Corner, founder of James Corner Field Operations is a landscape architect and urban designer based in New York City as well as being a professor of landscape architecture and urbanism at the University of Pennsylvania School of Design.
Jane Gillette studied English literature (B.A., Vassar College, Ph.D., Yale University) and has acted as writer and editor for Historic Preservation Magazine and Landscape Architecture Magazine and as managing editor of Spacemaker Press. She first wrote about Thomas Balsley in 2000. Jane is married to Peter Walker, who has contributed to her knowledge and interest in landscape architecture. She now writes short fiction.
