No stated date or edition. c1906. 36pp. Jean-Baptiste Henri-Dominique Lacordaire (1802-1861) was a French ecclesiastic, preacher, journalist, theologian and political activist. He re-established the Dominican Order in post-Revolutionary France. Lacordaire was reputed to be the greatest pulpit orator of the nineteenth century. This slim volume contains a selection of nine of his mosat famous religions musings. The volume for sale is sewn bound in the original grey paper wrappers with green titling on the front. The wrapper has shelf wear with some soiling and bumping with some curling to the corners. A small piece of the wrapper is missing from the top of the spine and a large piece from around the bottom of the spine. There is also some chipping and a little damage along the bottom edges.
