No date to front but circa 1887. Very good to inside with name of previous owner with Head Boy. and Attendance . hand written on a plain label to inside front board. Endpapers are illustrated with a floral pattern. Frontispiece with tissue guard and further b/w illustrations by D H Friston. Each chapter heading has a small b/w decoration with the first letter of the text decorated and a small decoration ends each chapter. The boards are brown with Three Commders set on a band of gilt with a gilt anchor through the middle; rifles, swords and author also appear impressed onto the boards. very slight wear to corners.
