Green cloth boards with colour illustrations on spine and front board. Gilt and black lettering on spine. Orange and black lettering on front board. Page dimensions: 246 x 156mm. Title continues "The Sandwich Islands, Western North America, Etc., Together with the Account of his Murder at Hawaii, and the Subsequent Voyage of Captain King to Kamtschatka, Japan and China." The 2 folding maps are a World Map (facing page xiii), and a map of Australia (facing page 392). The other two maps are two half page maps of The Sandwich Islands and The Society Islands on a leaf facing page 200. Plates numbered IV and VII are lacking, but there are 2 copies of Plate VIII. Plate I is the frontispiece, facing the title page. The other plates are facing these pages: xx, 72, 89 (Plate VIII), 152, 169, 243 (a second copy of Plate VIII), 312, 408, 425, 472, 568, 600 632, 648, 736, 752, 808, 888, 936, 1016, 1080, 1129.
