Three Leaves of Humanity

Set in a small mountain town in southern Italy at the end of the 1950s, *Three Leaves of Humanity* is a collection of interconnected stories seen through the eyes of a child. What gives these narratives their strength is not nostalgia, but attention: to people, gestures, silences, and acts of quiet solidarity that shape a community long before the modern world intrudes.

The three stories are inspired by real events witnessed by the young narrator and later reconstructed from childhood notes and drawings. Each tale takes the name of its central character, ordinary individuals whose lives briefly intersect and leave a lasting mark. Strangers become familiar, neighbors become protectors, and small acts of kindness reveal a deeper sense of shared humanity.

Written with clarity, warmth, and restraint, the book avoids sentimentality while remaining deeply emotional. It explores memory not as a fixed record of the past, but as a living force—one that continues to influence identity, belonging, and the meaning of home. The mountain village of Frosolone is more than a setting: it is a moral landscape, where time moves differently and human presence still matters.

*Three Leaves of Humanity* will resonate with readers who appreciate literary fiction grounded in real life, attentive to character rather than plot, and interested in how communities remember, care, and endure. It is a quiet, reflective book about what remains when people pass through our lives—and how even brief encounters can shape who we become.
