Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog): (Illustrated)

I can’t sit still and see another man slaving and working. I want to get up and superintend, and walk round with my hands in my pockets, and tell him what to do. It is my energetic nature. I can’t help it.

Includes 66 of the original A. Frederics illustrations found in the original 1889 publication.

The classic and timeless humorous story, Three Men in a Boat begins with the eponymous “three men” sitting around discussing the different needs in their lives. The three conclude that they are indeed overworked and a holiday is in due order. Their ideas for relaxation are instantly rejected until they hit upon the idea of taking a boating holiday up the River Thames. Thus begins the famous journey whose lore has now spanned three centuries. But lest we never fail to mention their most trustworthy companion—their dog Montmorency!
