[circa 1888]. (Hardcover) Very good, no dust jacket. 414 + 16pp. Royal blue cloth with gilt, black and brown decorations to the cover and spine. All edges gilt, patterned endpapers, illustrated frontispiece, illustrations, decorations, advertisements. The spine is lightly edgeworn at the top and bottom, the covers are lightly scuffed, and there is a previous owner's bookplate on the front endpaper. "Ours was a capital school, though it was not a public one. It was not far from London, so that a coach could carry us down there in little more than an hour from the White Horse Cellar, Piccadilly" - from Chapter I. (Juvenile, Fiction, Sea Adventure).
