Yogiraj Prem Prakash is an American-born yogi. Neem Karoli Baba placed him on the yoga path, Baba Hari Dass taught him authentic ashtanga yoga, Shree Maa and Swami Satyananda Saraswati in­structed him in vedic and tantric systems of worship, Sri Karunamayi blessed him in the path of grace and liberation, and Baba Ramakrishna Das gave him mantra initiation.Prem Prakash was presented with the 2007 Annual Service Award by the Institute of the Himalayan Tradition and in 2008 was honored by the Institute as Yogiraj, “an accomplished yogi.” He is the author of The Yoga of Spiritual Devotion, Three Paths of Devotion, Yoga American Style, and The Song of the Guru. His articles have appeared in many yoga magazines, including Yoga Journal, Light of Consciousness, Mother Jones, Yoga International, Yoga Aktuell (Germany), and Himalayan Path. Prem Prakash lives at Kailash Ashram in Middlebury, Vermont, with his wife and son. He is co-director of the Green Mountain School of Yoga.
