Three Years With Quantrell

John McCorkle served as a scout in Quantrell's Raiders: a fearsome guerilla militia on the frontier of Civil War Missouri and the West. Brutality beget brutality in this theatre of war, and simple farmers and pioneers were transformed into some of the most famous and feared desperados of the Old West. "Bloody" Bill Anderson, single-mindedly focused on avenging the deaths of his lady relatives; Frank and Jesse James, whose families were expelled from their farmsteads and their property seized; and the Younger Brothers, who transitioned to bank robberies after Lee surrendered all figure in this action-packed narrative.

This edition contains period photographs of many mentioned in the text, as well as contemporary illustrations of several events chronicled.
