Maroon cloth boards attached by rusted metal clasp; boards rubbed with some soiling and fading; chipped paper title label "Watermelons" at top of front board. Front board pastedown has two ink stamps: "Varnado High School | Varnado, La." at top and at bottom right is "Repaired by | W.P.A. | Bookbinding Project | Women's and Professional Division" with handwritten ink notations "1-7-41" and "Bogalusa, La." Some light foxing, soiling, stains, and edge-wear to three bound-in booklets: {#1} U.S. Department of Agriculture Farmers' Bulletin No. 1394. WATERMELONS.
