Spine not creased. 245 x 170 mm. 128 pp. A clean, bright copy of William Alderson's memoir of life as a threshing contractor in north Yorkshire in the 1950s and 60s. Covers an area of the North Riding along the River Tees from Yarm in the east to Croft in the west, and as far south as Great Smeaton, Appleton Wiske and Picton. Well illustrated with old b&w and colour photographs, as well as a few adverts and some other ephemera.
