Thrift is what Innes practices as well as preaches. Although this work is less upscale than her Paint Magic series, Innes nonetheless advocates all the wonders of the gesso world for decorating, including stenciling floors and sponging furniture. Lots of smart, penny-wise design ideas sparkle here. General directions for generic projects are included, though assumptions are made about skills in woodworking, sewing, and painting. Barbara Jacobs
