Throne of Vengeance: Volume One (Paperback or Softback)

"Hindsight is a cruel power. If I may relay anything to you now, as I describe my story from the memories that haunt me, it is endless rage and frustration that arises within me. For, at every turn of the way, I had yet another person warn me of his malevolence. Belittle me for my naivety. Yet what did I do about it? Fell into the inevitability that was my fate."

Alan, a sheltered and incredibly curious young man, recounts his tragic descent into darkness following his spur-of-the-moment decision to save the most hated man in the kingdom of Soilaila, Hilbert Limious.
Once a revered hero, Hilbert's fame turned infamous after his failed assassination attempt on the dragon queen of Soilaila resulted in the massacre of half the population. Upon his return, he is greeted by a violent mob, ready to take his life in revenge for his betrayal-if not for the sudden and unlikely intervention of Alan. In exchange for his aid, Hilbert offers to teach Alan magic within the magic-banned society and help him grow into a powerful young man.

However, Hilbert's mysterious return is questioned for its ominous intentions, and his sudden interest in the naive Alan escapes no one's notice. Desperate to save him from Hilbert's manipulative grasp, Alan encounters a savant, dubious political allies, and horrific enemies, all tugging him in opposite directions. As madness and political strife slowly strip him of all his autonomy, Alan reflects in narration on where it all went wrong, and questions the readers on the extent to which one is capable of escaping the consequences of their own fated actions.

In a world where power corrupts and the line between hero and villain blurs, Throne of Vengeance acts as a haunting reminder of the cost of betrayal and the fragility of morality. Will Alan find redemption despite Hilbert's conniving guidance, or will he too be consumed by the darkness he sought to master?
