Spine damaged at head with segment missing. Previous owner s book plate on paste down Butler Place . Moderate foxing throughout. Gutter is shaken. Unmarked text block. Please see photos. Our book s provenance stems from Butler Place, which was a farm purchased by Pierce Butler. The estate was home to five generations of the family until its sale in 1916. The house was torn down in the mid-1920 s. Just below these streets the legacy of the estate s history exist through Fanny Kemble Abolitionist Memorial Park, named for the famed actress who lived at Butler Place. COLH1871ABFA.
