TIBET: Enduring Spirit, Exploited Land describes the traditional lives of nomads and farmers and their practices in co-existing with the environment. The environmental ethic developed by the Tibetans over millenia now threatened by Chinese development practices has gained increased significance for the world as the population increases and its dependence on the natural resources reaches its limits.
Robert Z. Apte, former professor of Public Health at University of California, Berkeley, is the author of Three Kingdoms on the Roof of the World: Bhutan, Nepal, and Ladakh and other books. He has photographed extensively in the Himalayan region and Southeast Asia and has had several gallery exhibits. He has served as consultant and facilitator on development and human services projects.
Andres R. Edwards is an independent systems consultant serving businesses, studios, museums, and other exhibitors. He has served as producer, designer, and exhibit developer for projects on wildlife and biodiversity and has taught in the area of environmental education.
