Born in Modena in 1964, the author grew up when the world still moved at a human pace. In sixty years he crossed every threshold of the digital age — mainframes, the first software houses, photography, electronics — and watched speed quietly erase the layers that once gave time its thickness.

The Time Before AI is a memoir-manifesto that starts from a small thing: his father's Formica chair, and a world that walked at walking speed. From there comes the question that runs through the whole book — what can be accelerated, and what cannot? Memory, attention, presence, the slow work of becoming someone.

Part chronicle, part confession, written with disarming irony (yes: a book about the time before AI, written with AI), it is an invitation to feel again the weight of the here and now — because the here and now is the result of everywhere-before-now.
