Time of the Broken Eagle

NATURE AND ALL HUMANKIND ARE ENDANGERED. WHO WILL STOP THE IMPENDING DISASTER? On a remote, wilderness estate, a young eagle falls from the sky, uninjured but unable to fly. A portent of strange events to come? At Lost Lake, twelve young adults from juvenile detention enter a program to restart their lives. Some take to the beauty of the natural world, helping wounded wildlife in the animal rehab clinic, and the outdoor survival training. Others arrive with covert agendas. Slowly, dangers will rise in the mountains, forests, and wetlands, and in the realm of international intrigue. The small group at Lost Lake will have to abandon conflicts and private schemes if they are going to awaken and stand against grave threats, both to themselves and all life on earth. One boy with a shocking past may be able to protect them-if his bizarre behavior doesn't get him tossed back to detention. Dhani Singh Jones thinks he hears animal voices. Does he possess an ability that he himself hates and resists? How can he fore-know events and detect what's wrong with injured animals, when others can't? The survival trainer, a Marine veteran with his own painful past, is sure Dhani is a fraud. A Tibetan refugee helping in the animal clinic suspects Dhani's real past is not found in his police record but is concealed in forgotten mists of a past lifetime.Everyone at Lost Lake will wrestle with tough challenges and life-changing decisions to make-none more urgent than this: Is Dhani a dangerous con? Or is a force working through him to help save them all? The coming of the broken eagle touches off events that will build throughout the Lost Lake Series to a dramatic climax on the edge of global disaster. Illustrated by: Mark Ivan Cole.…
