Those kooky marketing guys are at it again. These tapes don't particularly go together, but they do look swell as a boxed set. And they all contain some good advice, so, like chicken soup, listening couldn't hurt. The Eric Tyson tapes on Investing and Personal Finance are general and basic. If you don't have a somewhat more advanced view of how money works, it seems unlikely you would have the kind of job that would require Jeffrey Mayer's more sophisticated time-management techniques. These three tapes, INVESTING FOR DUMMIES; PERSONAL FINANCE FOR DUMMIES; TIME MANAGEMENT FOR DUMMIES are well produced, and while Stephen Newman is an acceptable reader, I preferred hearing the authors read their own work. This package is a complete review of personal financial matters and time usage. "Getting organized" is an important topic, with investing, saving, and major expenses also examined. One focus is on reducing expenses as a way to increase one's savings, and there is sound advice on investing in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, and small businesses. Those who already know the fundamentals will find these tapes too basic, but novices will get benefits from this introduction.
