The Timeless Five

For nearly a century, a handful of financial principles have quietly separated households that build lasting wealth from those that don't. In The Timeless Five, veteran insurance and tax planning advisor Earl R. Eastman traces these ideas back through three generations-from a Wall Street observer in the 1920s, to his own father's four-decade career, to his own nearly fifty years advising high-net-worth families. Written in plain, everyday language rather than technical jargon, the book instills five core principles:

• Uninterrupted compound interest
• Avoiding losses
• Minimizing (rather than simply paying) taxes
• Operating like your own bank
• Using leverage and other people's money wisely

Modern tools such as Section 7702 and indexed universal life insurance and other put these principles into practice. Supported by historical data, tables, and real-world illustrations, The Timeless Five offers a clear framework for growing and protecting wealth across a lifetime, and for creating a solid legacy for many futures to come.

Earl Eastman has nearly five decades of experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families on tax reduction, advanced life insurance, estate planning, and wealth preservation. After graduating from the University of Miami in 1977, he co-founded his first firm with his father and began working with affluent clients on complex financial planning needs. He became one of the youngest members of the prestigious Top of the Table organization and remained active for more than twenty-five years. Earl is also a founding member of First Financial Resources-one of the nation's oldest and largest life insurance producer groups-and earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from The American College. Over his career, Earl built and led a respected estate planning practice that was acquired by a publicly traded financial services firm in 2006. He later founded Confidence Financial Partners, focusing on tax-efficient wealth accumulation and insurance-based planning strategies. In 2026, the firm was rebranded as Eastman Wealth Strategies, reflecting the next chapter of the business alongside his son, Robb. Earl lives in San Diego with his wife of fifty years, Kim, and enjoys spending time with their children and their seven grandchildren.
