A Timeless Script From a 1st Century Doctor: Advent through the eyes of Dr. Luke

“Being in a Dr. Farmer’s class is being in the presence of someone who genuinely cares about you and wants to do everything they can to help you succeed. He always has so many things to teach you that you did not even know you would be getting into when you signed up for the class.” (Kathryn Inman, Flagler College Student) “Being in Dr. Farmer’s class is very educational and interesting. Students learn more about psychology than one would expect from an intro class. This is one of the best classes I have ever taken. I highly recommend Dr. Farmer and his book because it is great.” (Alexis Gifford, Flagler College Student) “Having Dr. Farmer as a teacher means having a class to look forward to. He teaches in a way where I can understand the material at a fast pace and never fails to make me laugh.” (Gia Venetucci, Flagler College Student) “What it is like to have class with Dr. Farmer? Since the first day of class, Dr. Farmer’s captivating attitude has encouraged a two-way conversation with us students. His unique, knowledgeable, and engaging approach gives room for open, yet respectful class discussions. It is an honor to be part of his class.” (Karla J. Lopez, Flagler College Student) “Being enrolled in a class with Dr. Farmer is a change of pace I had to get used to. Through the eyes of a Fine Art major, adjusting to Dr. Farmer’s class style would not have come easy on my own. Dr. Farmer has a unique way of adapting his teaching style to fit each of his different class groups. The first week of class he stated, " If you are not having a good time at Flagler, come stop by my office and I will make sure I change that." Dr. Farmer leads an open and honest classroom, always engaging his students, incorporating different teaching methods throughout the course. I really enjoy Dr. Farmer as a teacher and having a mutual comfortability to share personal stories and laughs.” (Jordan Outland, Flagler College Student) “Dr. Farmer has been one of the most welcoming professors I have had since entering Flagler College. His class is always so warm, fun, and lighthearted. His class is one I always look forward to, even on days when I would usually rather be lying in bed. He has helped me prepare for my college career more than I ever could have expected, and I am profoundly grateful that I decided to take his class.” (Cosette Bryndal, Flagler College Student) “To have Dr. Farmer as a teacher is a breath of fresh air. Someone who can be honest and give all perspectives is very refreshing in many ways. He explains controversial topics in a way that is digestible. It is extremely refreshing to have someone you can trust to tell you the truth. He has broadened my view of the world in many positive ways and for that I will forever appreciate his point of view.” (Evie Schmidt, Flagler College Student) (All words printed with permission from each student)
