Featuring a series of stories and verses, highlighted by Louis Wain's fantastical color plates and numerous black-and-white drawings, all involving cats in human-like situations, such as the traditional counting rhyme roles of "tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor, gentleman, apothecary, ploughboy, thief". Condition commensurate with age. Careful handling is advised. Cover boards are intact but heavily worn and faded with signs of rubbing and staining, furthermore the cover board edges are bumped. Spin edges are crushed. Page edges are browned slightly and crinkled. Interior pages are lightly tanned with some staining visible throughout, mainly on the endpapers. Binding is fragile with several image plates loose and other pages coming away from the spine. Book contents are in good order despite the book's condition with clear and legible text and clear and outstanding images and illustrations. Pen marks on front interior.
