Very Good set overall. Five large octavo volumes in original blue cloth with gilt lettering. Moderate shelf wear, rubbing, and sunning to spines and extremities. Text blocks remain generally clean and sound with light age toning. Ownership signature of Barnet Kottler on front endpapers of at least some volumes. One volume (Vol. II, Part II) exhibits significant hinge and binding failure with detached or nearly detached front board, internal cracking, and old adhesive residue; all pages appear present. Remaining volumes are structurally sound with minor wear.**Volume II Part II has substantial binding damage including detached or nearly detached board and should be considered a reading or repair copy within the set. Price reflects condition and completeness.
