Original brown cloth. Backstrip titled in gilt. Front cover with title in orange & black and illustration of mandolin-playing jester in orange, gilt & black. Head and foot of backstrip lightly rubbed, backstrip gilt dull. Hinges slightly rubbed. Outer corners of covers lightly rubbed and a little curled. No dust jacket. Top- & fore-edges of text-block lightly toned, ink dot on fore-edge. Impressions of now-removed slightly rusted paper-clip in upper margins of pages 251-264 and 315-326, with here-and-there slight transference of rust pigment. Upper margins of one leaf - pages 323/324 - with closed tear of length ½" (less than 1.5cm) and a number of associated short untidyish creases. A few leaves with short crease confined to margins at upper outer corners. Owner's name on front flyleaf. Generally clean and tight. GOOD copy. Seller Inventory # 28097
