The Tobacco Oracle: Cigar Divination, Rituals, and Sacred Magic in Afro-Diasporic Traditions

The Tobacco Oracle
Divining Through Smoke, Ash, and Fire in Afro-Diasporic Tradition

The cigar does not shout.
It burns.
And through its burn, the spirits speak.

In this groundbreaking and deeply ritualistic volume, bestselling author and Babalorishá Tilo de Àjàgùnnà—founder of DAILY IFÁ and author of The Sacred Umbanda series—opens the gates to one of the most elemental and overlooked oracles in Afro-diasporic practice: the sacred use of tobacco for divination, cleansing, protection, and spirit communion.

Whether held in the hands of a Preto Velho, lit at a crossroads for Exu, or puffed softly by a medium deep in trance, the cigar becomes more than smoke—it becomes a voice. A mirror. A map.
