Together We Rise Voices from the Frontlines of Freedom Anthology Rebelling against Injustice (Paperback or Softback)

As artists it is time to stand united against the injustices wracking our country and our shared earth. As people of all ages are being ripped from homes, from streets that should be full of laughter, play, community, and care for humanity without bias. Without fear. Daxson Publishing put out the call to fellow artists and the response we received was unapologetic, alive in truth, humanity, and a desire to provide a historical account of the atrocities taking place at home and abroad. Courage lives in this book. Nestled between pages of sorrow, disgust, terror, dismay, and unyielding bravery are moments of peace. Normalcy before, and after, the storm of human indignity. When ICE sweeps MacArthur Park and surrounding neighborhoods, Carlos Ornelas weeps along with the people of Olvera in his poem ICE RAIDS as "tears of black ink flood the streets of downtown." Where people shout "we will not go down without a fight," and artists take note and remember. As you look through the writings and art in this collection you will find reflections echoing the symphony of neighborhoods, children playing on the street, the gleeful honk of the paletero, the songs that our parents used to sing to us, and the chants of a united front defying fascism.
